World Television Premiere of Hopeville

ATLANTA (March 5, 2009) – Gospel powerhouses Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin team for a dramatic musical story of  the determination, faith and friendship of three friends from the fictional town of Hopeville in the Gospel Music Channel world television premiere of Hopeville: The Original Gospel Sensation on Sunday, March 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

More than a concert, Hopeville: The Original Gospel Sensation, is a dynamic story of friendship and commitment between three childhood friends. Years ago, as the story goes, the three friends from the make-believe town of Hopeville had huge aspirations: one wanted to inspire others as a preacher, another wished his love for dance would instill faith in those around him rather than be viewed as a defiance of Baptist traditions, and their female friend dreamed of singing for the world. It will be a world premiere weekend on GMC.  Sat. March 7 at 8:00 p.m., the network will present the series premiere of Ha!: Standing Up for Clean Comedy.   The new GMC Original series will feature family-friendly stand-up, jokes, bits and sketches from the clean comedy scene.  Comedian/Actor Jonathan Slocumb (The Steve Harvey Show, Meet The Browns) hosts.
